Kimberly has been such a great supporter of the channel. She is always encouraging. She watches all the videos, likes the videos and comments, She also interacts on facebook and talks about the channel on social media. So I asked Kimberly to select a page to color and choose the pencils she would like me to use in a color along. She chose this page. I hope she is happy with how it turned out.
Today’s image is from Rita Berman’s Gelato image in Meine Reise durch Europa. I had a request to do voice narration over my coloring. So this video is sped up a little and is narrated throughout the entire process. Miss Ellie (dogger) and my new grandson Macallan make cameo appearances.
I use Polychromos colored pencils throughout.

While it looks like I used a lot of pencils, I did, but look at how many are just versions of the same hue (color). This can bring depth to a picture.

I used Prismacolor Premier colored pencils to color this birds nest. My husband said the birds should have had red breasts. Does he not see that would not go with my color scheme! LOL
Ellie thought I should have stopped the brown (from the background) to contain it to the circle and I agree with her entirely. If you watch the you tube video I post that knowing what I know now I would have done just that. She is so smart.

I used Arrtx colored pencils and Mungyo pastels in Johanna Basford’s World of Flowers. I am not completely satisfied with this one. I think I may have preferred it to have dark blue in the corners radiating out to light blue to form a circle around the main image. Let me know your thoughts, I’d be curious to hear what you think.
I used Arrtx colored pencils. This was the first time I had used these pencils in a coloring book. I am not sure what I think about them. I tested and swatched them on Springhill Bristol paper and I definitely prefer them on the Springhill Bristol paper. They did not blend as well in the Johanna Basford book. I will use them again and let you know my thoughts. If you had used these, let me know what you think of them.

As always, I appreciate you stopping by. Oh and a little smiling baby action to make your day. Macallan is two weeks old in this photo. He is such a content and happy baby.
Color along with me as we color this lovely image from Joanna Basford. You can find a real time color along on my YouTube channel. Just click on the button below.
I used Faber-Castell Polychromos Artists’ Color Pencils to color this lovely image from the World of Flowers adult coloring book. I used Mungyo pastels in the background to add a soft pop of color. The paper in the book is a soft ivory. The list of colors I used is listed below.
In this two part series, I color Rachel Mintz Bunny with a kite. You can find the image in this online book or in this book where you can print the images on any paper in any size. These images make great cards. Or you can purchase an actual coloring book here. Either way you can’t go wrong. These images are so stinkin’ cute!
In part one I explore using Mungyo Soft Pastels to make a soft cloud background. In part two, I focus on coloring the image using Caran D’ Ashe Pablo colored pencils.
