Here are a few of the fun projects folks made at the RMPCG polymer clay retreat this year. Our theme was 3-d projects.
I went with a miniature fruit and vegetable stand. So far all I have is the stand and the vegetables. I will continue to work on it. It was quite fun.
Here’s a couple of closeups
and in no particular order:
Leone, Patty Moore (3), then next two are Peg , Lucille,Tracy, Amy, Janice, Peg again, Bev, Laura, Carolyn,Tina, Lucille, Kathy, the last three were not done at the retreat they were done for a Zentangle demo at our guild meeting by Gayle.
The horse sculpture by Tina was inspired by Bryan Tubbs out of Arizona.
Thanks for looking- I better get back to Jazzy he is very miffed that he was left behind while I was away. Doesn’t seem to matter that he got to have a sleepover with his “friend” Sissy. Thanks again Maureen!!!!
Hi Wendy,
Looks like the clay can be used for lots of different things, is it hard to work with? And does the clay come in different colors or is it painted after it has been used?
Oh you can do almost anything with polymer clay. It comes in lots of colors but you can paint on it, add things to it, add color to it with alcohol inks, pearlex, the list goes on.
It is very easy to work with. It never dries out so you can leave your project and come back to it anytime. you can mix clays together.
Google polymer clay and you will see a broad variety of all the things you can do with it. This site http://polymerclaycentral.com/ has tutorials and information that may help you too. I will be happy to answer all the questions I can as well. I will be out of town until the 18th but then I will return and maybe do a tutorial on molds for those interested.
Get a block or two of Premo or Fimo or Kato clay and play around with it. If you want to paint on it you may want to bake your piece first. Premo is the softest and Kato is the firmest.
Thank you for following my blog 🙂 I hope this helped
Wendy
Tx for the info Wendy.
I resently bought a block of white fimo clay. I want to try and make embelishments with it for the centre of my flowers. Haven’t tried it yet. But when i succeed. I’ll put a post on our blog.
Greetings,
Inge
I would love to see them. Let me know if you have questions. I would be happy to help.
