Ah, Monday…. wish I could say that I am glad you are here.
I thought today instead of a card I would do a quick comparison of all the white ink pads that I have. I used paper studios black card stock and stampin’ up stamps to do the test.
The results are:
- versacolor pigment white
- archival brilliance moonlight white
- studio g pigment white
- stampabilities pigment white
- colorbox chalk alabaster
- colorbox pigment frost white
- studio g chalk-white
- stampin’ up whisper white – sorry I smeared this, this ink seems to take longer to dry than the rest
The hearts are from top to bottom:
- Studio G pigment white
- Colorbox Pigment White Frost
- Studio G Chalk White
My favorites were the studio g pigment and studio g chalk-white. Ironic that they are the least expensive. Whisper white covers well but I have trouble not putting too much ink on the stamp. You must use a very light touch. I also have trouble not smearing it. Maybe it needs heat set?
I hope that this comparison has helped in some way. Email me if you have any questions.
Hope your Monday is a good one!

Thanks for sharing this. I still need to buy a white one and didn’t know which one, because my last one was hardly visible. I think I will go for the soft look of no. 6 if it is purchasable here.
Your welcome. I find I like the look of one over the other depending on the project. Colorbox is a good overall white. Best of luck.
I got lucky today. The Colorbox was available at my craft store, the others where not, so I am very happy I got exactly what I wanted 🙂
Thanks again!
I am so glad I could help. Thanks for the link back on your blog.

I’m hunting around for a very bright, clear, white ink for a special large stamp I have. This chart is the best I’ve found to show what I might be looking for – thank you!
Do you know where I could buy the Studio G Chalk White or Pigment White? I’m having a surprisingly hard time finding them.
I have found Studio G at walmart and Joanne fabric. I bet you could find it at Amazon as well. It is the cheapest ink which is nice. You may want to check Michaels too. Good Luck and thanks for visiting. Wendy
